Wow that film festival was the best thing we have ever put on.


Man, it was a lot of work. I thought like to thank everyone that made it possible:

K Sims ( A-mazing), Todd (wow ..just wow), Noa and Maegan, Vanessa and Pete ( thanks for continuing support),and Jeremy ( you had no idea what you were in for), And a huge round of applause for Peter Burr (aka Hooliganship) for putting up with our nonsense. Everyone else.as well.

We are collecting ourselves and preparing for the next big thing.

THE PDX EXPERIMENTAL FILM FESTIVAL 2009.
MAY 6th is the opening of the installation portion of the fest
and we are going to be playing in the opening which starts at
six but the musical performances will start at nine.

Mega Update. Grand Canyon, LA and Beyond

Sorry about the long silence. We have not fallen off the face of the planet. Our lives have just gotten so crazily glamorous we have had no time for blogging (intern position available). So after Santa Fe, we drove to the Grand Canyon, and stared at it for approximately 10 minutes before the sun went down. it looked kind of like this. Then we stayed at the flintstones theme park in the middle of nowhere, arizona that looked like this.
The desert was beautiful and a whole lot of nothingness. It was quite a contrast to the LA experience. We played at the weirdest little weirdo bar on St. Patrick's day that was absolutly full of weirdos. we played with the ummmmmm, most interesting indie rock band we've seen in a while. You can formulate your own opinion after you check them out here.
LA was crazy. It made us both crazy. We stopped by William Shatner's for a photo shoot in Malibu then got out of town.
K turned 22 in Big Sur and we rocked a breakfast show in Santa Cruz. Check out the video above. We then headed up to Oakland and played with our friend Stu at Luke's old house.
We also have a sweet video from that you can look at above. We have been playing alot with our friend Todd from Santa Rosa. Look for a post soon with our collaborative recordings we made the other night. Fucking sickness.
In Arcata today for the last show of our tour before we head back to P-town tomarrow. sad. but were having a psychedelajawea returns show on our return. Copious amounts of champagne generously provided by Fred Meyers. You had all better be there because we have missed you dearly.

Santa Fe is somewhat deserty. no cactuses really though. just a lot of really bizarre fake adobe style architecture. actually its kinda like being in a foreign country. My sister goes to college here so after making new friends on campus, we got to experience a little bit of the local college lifestyle. We went to this hilarious bro party (jello shots and skanks in abundance) and kinda fucked up their PA (oops) so while we didnt really get to play, we do now have a favorite song which you can experience here. Kids in Santa Fe are all about this shit.

We played on Saturday night at Warehouse 21, the local arts teen center place. The band that went on before us was this weird twangy hoedown sort of deal who, no joke, had a guy that just made balloon animals on stage THE ENTIRE TIME. I AM NOT SHITTING YOU.

Lots of eye opening musical experiences, thats for sure. Jesus. Needless to say, we were a little bit out there musically. But they seemed to enjoy it. My sister took some great pictures and a video.














After the show, we stopped by Meowwolf, the coolest thing that seems to be happening in this town, an art collective/music space. There was a sweet rave party happening and everybody was way nice. We were planning to play but didnt want to hold up the dance party, as we respect the importance of getting down. And the best coincidence happened!! We ran into Nicholas from Portland and I just KNEW we would see someone we knew here! Lots of excitement all around...














Leaving New Mexico today. Thanks to all the great kids here we met who were supportive of our Pacific Northwest brand of weirdness. And my sister for being awesome and coming to our show. And to St. Johns University for the free burritos and pianos. We're going to go check out the grand canyon and then head over to LA so look for postcards in the mail and new videos from our LA show very soon!

us playing at the mansion in provo, ut. we played with the devil's cuntry, kick-ass, hardcore twangy, straight up country awesomeness. thanks so much to glen and angela and everybody else that made the show happen!! the kids were all real cool and into the noise music stuff. super nice people and lots of good fun. provo is weirdly beautiful with all those mountains pressing right up against the suburban sprawl. (see the picture of us and K's sister wearing our shirt to get the idea) next up: 2 shows in santa fe on the 14th but first we're spending a little vacation time in moab and arches national park so check back soon for desert fashion photo shoot!

SALT LAKE GRITTY

We played at the BOING! house and man those were a bunch of really nice people.
They are a functioning collective like others are only trying to pull off.
Food Not Bombs runs out of the house so we had free veggies and they let us
nap on their couch. The Show was awesome. Thank you Boing!

tour: day 1. oh wow.

salt lake city. is kinda great. so far. in our sleep deprived state, after traversing the whole of eastern oregon in the night (verrrry flat) we managed to visit the mormon temple ( the really REALLY big one) and attend a FREE pipe organ concert. holy shit it was great. mormans are friendly, in a kind of cute/creepy way, like little aliens. wait until we actually play a show. more on that later.

We are going to be playing MEOW WOLF later the same night with Fortress of Attitude and The Late Severa Wires.

We have a confirmation of a sweet show at the Alabastor Mansion Hotel and Lounge Historical Society in Oakland, Ca with an Ethiopian jazz/rock super group.
I am still working on getting Boomerang Boomerang to come out of hiding and playing.

We are playing at The Waypost-- 3120 N Williams ( in Portand) with St. Frankie Lee on March 5. Please come, The Waypost is great and a half. This show will be a real weird but good mix of eclectic folky bluegrass inspired pop along with cosmic power noise ambiance. You won't want to miss it. 8pm.
